GREENWAY NATURE TOURS was
found in 1999 by Mr. Mario León (34).
MARIO LEON: is a biologist
that has over ten years experience guiding all around Costa
Rica. Such a hardcore naturalist, he has been involved in
a lot of environmental programs at the national and international
level. Founder of environmental groups and companies, Mario
worked for 2 years for the United Nations as the World Youth
Representative for the Earth Summit (United Nations Conference
for the Environment and Development) that was held in Rio
de Janeiro, 1992.
Mario has been a naturalist guide for
several of the most important tour companies in Costa Rica.
He has developed educational materials for beginner’s tour
guides and is a teacher for the National Training Program
for tour guides belongs to the government of Costa Rica.
The attention of tourist coming by cruise
ships is one of his specialties. At an international level,
Mario has been worked for Windstar Cruises for several years
as a Naturalist and Costa Rican Specialist, and for Holland
America Line as Assistant Shore Excursion Manager. Mario
has been in more than 35 countries and his international
tourisms experience includes promotion & guiding in
some places around the world as the Western & Eastern
Caribbean, Central America, Mexican Riviera, Panama Canal
