DESCRIPTION:

Pineapple Tour is a Costa Rican family owned business with more than 1,500 hectares that offers our guests, local as well as foreigners, a unique experience on the production process of the pineapple. The family that owns the farm has more than 50 years of experience on the crop, but it wasn’t until 2003 which with great success they incurred on the idea of sharing the adventure with visitors and started the tourism department.

Our tour in the farm has a duration of two hours and includes a trip through the Hacienda were one can appreciate the great plantations of the fruit and the processing plant.

This tour leaves from the Pier and the plantation is located at about one hour from Puerto Limon. On the way to this tour, you will enjoy many picturesque towns and learn about Costa Rica in general with our tour guide. Banana plantations are another highlight and on the way, our guide will make an optional stop for learn about this crop too.

The visit to the Pineapple Plantation is combined with a boat trip on the famous Tortuguero Canal. Known as Costa Rica's Amazon because of its surrounding rain forest, the Tortuguero Canal region is rich with exotic flora and fauna. You’ll enjoy a short scenic bus ride, passing by banana plantations and small, rustic towns as you make your way to the canals.

Arriving to Moin wharf, You’ll then board covered boats for the highlight of your tour: a cruise through the Tortuguero jungle canals, part of the river system that parallels Costa Rica's Caribbean coast. As you leisurely float along the canals, keep an eye out for monkeys, crocodiles, sloths and toucans, along with the variety of exotic flora that thrives in this rich ecosystem.

• Complementary soft drinks or bottled water are served during the tour.
• Round trip transport between the ship and attractions.
• The meeting point is inside the pier. Greenway have a special permission. Our guides are located close to the main gangway, just behind the security stand (scanner).
• Our guides will be at pier with a sign and the name of the tour on it.
• All buses have A/C
• Buses for 44 or 52 passengers have toilet.
• This tour has been designated an adventure  tour.
• Tour is not wheelchair accessible & is not for pax with any walking limitations.
• All tour guides are bi-lingual English – Spanish. For other languages please make the request in advance.
• During this tour, in some places there is no shade, pax should bring sunscream, a hat, sunglases, etc.
• During the rainy season, Sep- Nov, pax should expect some rain. Pax should bring a raincoat.
• Greenway Tours suggests pax to bring mosquito spray for beach and rain forest tours.
• Greenway Tours buses are equipped with First-Aid Kit in case of accidents.
• Pax should bring a towel and swim suit for the beach swimming.
• Pax should wear comfortable shoes.
• Pax should be advised to bring a backpack to store cameras, film, sunscream and any other belongings for easy travel.
• This tour is designed for active people that enjoy exercise and the great outdoors.
• Facilities include changing rooms, showers, restrooms, bar, restaurant.
