DESCRIPTION:

Known as Costa Rica's Amazon because of its surrounding rain forest, the Tortuguero Canal region is rich with exotic flora and fauna.

Board your covered boat for a leisurely cruise through the jungle canals. Your guide explains the rain forest eco-system and points out sights of interest.

Keep an eye out for wildlife including howler monkeys, sloths, toucans, bats, aquatic birds, iguanas and crocodiles as well as exotic flora. At the end of your cruise, board your waiting transportation for the short transfer to Cedar Valley Ranch, where an interesting visit into the rain forest awaits for you.

Come and take one of our wagons that will take you through the heart of the rainforest, along with a naturalist tour guide that will enter in a discussion about zoology and botanic of the tropical forest’s ecosystem for like an hour and a half long.

The fearless driver will show you 2 types of poisonous frogs and other variety of species that you may see on the journey. At a moment of the expedition we will reach the highest part of the mountain where you can walk to the great view point where you may see the nature on its totality along with the Banano River.

Then, you may cross a bridge of about 300 feet long on a middle height that goes through trees and will give you the chance of observing nature in a different view. The tour is great for pictures of nature.

After the tour, enjoy complementary fruits and coffee and get that special gift you are looking for in the souvenir’s store.

PRIVATE SERVICE	We offer the possibility to make this tour PRIVATE (Bus & Guide) for an additional fee of 20% of the regular rate and with a minimum of 6 participants. Activities (boats, zip line, wagon, etc,) are operated in a regular basis and depending on supplier’s demand. These activities can not be private.

Operational Notes

• Complementary soft drinks and bottled water are served on the bus.
• Round trip transport between the ship and attractions.
• The meeting point is inside the pier. Greenway have a special permission. Our guides are located close to the main gangway, just behind the security stand (scanner).
• Our guides will be at pier with a sign and the name of the tour on it.
• All buses have A/C
• Buses for 44 or 52 passengers have toilet.
• This tour has been designated an environmentally sensitive tour.
• Tour is wheelchair accessible.
• All tour guides are bi-lingual English – Spanish. For other languages please make the request in advance.
• During this tour, in some places there is no shade, pax should bring sunscream, a hat, sunglases, etc.
• During the rainy season, Sep- Nov, pax should expect some rain. Pax should bring a raincoat.
• Greenway Tours suggests pax to bring mosquito spray for beach and rain forest tours.
• Greenway Tours buses are equipped with First-Aid Kit in case of accidents.g
• Pax should wear comfortable shoes.
• Pax should be advised to bring a backpack to store cameras, film, sunscream and any other belongings for easy travel.
