Day by Day Itinerary.

Day 1.     WELCOME TO COSTA RICA. Arrival to the International Airport Juan Santamaria. Upon arrival at the San Jose airport, you will be met by one of our representatives who will explain your itinerary, answer any questions and provide you with a packet of vouchers and information about your trip. Transfer to your hotel and free time at leisure.

Day 2. COMBO TOUR: POAS VOLCANO, LA PAZ  WATERFALLS  & DOKA COFFEE TOUR. (B, L).
To get to the different attractions included during this excursion we will drive by the city of Alajuela passing by the Agriculture Monument, the Monument to Juan Santamaria and the famous Mango Park.  As we ascend towards the Poás Volcano we will notice the change in temperature and vegetation; we will see coffee plantations as well as fern, flower and strawberry farms along the way, creating a beautiful landscape.

On the way to the volcano we will visit Doka Coffee Estate for a delicious breakfast and a coffee tour, in an actual coffee plantation where we will learn about the ancient techniques used by the experts to produce one of the best coffees in Costa Rica. Learn about the careful process involved on the cultivation, harvesting and roasting of the Golden Bean. After the coffee tour we will continue to Poás Volcano where we will not only admire the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles, but also learn about the different ecosystems in this beautiful national park.

Following the visit to the volcano we will continue to La Paz Water Fall Garden for lunch and tour. On arrival to the La Paz, we will walk through a trail, leading to a spectacular waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. Inside the park we will also visit the hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium, the bird house, the butterfly garden and the frog’s exhibit. After all this, return to your hotel in San Jose and free time at leisure. Dinner on your own.

Day 3. ADVENTURE  COMBO TOUR: ZIPLINE + RAFTING TOUR. (B, L, D). Costa Rica provides White Water Rafting experiences that take your adrenaline to top levels and fascinating Canopy Tours going high above the treetops. Now you can enjoy the two activities in an extraordinary way. Discover the natural marvels of Sarapiqui; an extensive territory located in the northeastern parts of the country, with a variety of crystal clear rivers, an abundance of beautiful tropical forests and villages inhabited by friendly and laborious people.

Leaving San José the tour traverses the majestic scenary of Braulio Carrillo National Park and arriving in Sarapiqui we will enjoy two adventurous attractions: the Canopy Tour in the middle of a secondary forest with trees of high altitude and after lunch the White Water Rafting in the agitating waters of the Sarapiqui River.

The Canopy Tour takes about an hour and a half and the nine cables of different length stretch over the forest with the last one crossing the Sarapiqui River.

The rafting at Sarapiqui River has different levels between class II and class III, presenting vibrant scenary to those who want to participate in this exciting activity. Nine miles of unexpected rapids in combination with calm and relaxing intervals makes this an unforgettable experience for bird watchers and nature lovers.
Overnight in Sarapiqui at Centro Neotropico Hotel or similar. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 4.  ARENAL VOLCANO. (B, D). During the morning, free time for enjoy the hotel facilities or take any of our multiple optional tours. During the afternoon, land transfer to Arenal Volcano area. Check In at selected hotel and free time at leisure. Evening: Visit to The Springs where you can take a dip in the warm waters heated from within the volcano and have a great time in this unforgettable paradise. After dark and from this enchanted spot, with a little god luck, you will have the opportunity to see the volcano activity and the red incandescent lava flowing down from the top of the crater to the adjacent areas. Buffet dinner included. Note: Transportation form the hotel to the hot springs not included, but it is only 5 minutes by cab.

Day 5. PLAYA PANAMA BEACH (B). During the morning, land transfer to Hotel Casa Conde de Mar at Papagayo Gulf. Hotel Casa Conde del Mar offers comfort and relaxation in a welcoming environment located in an area with one of the most pristine beaches in Costa Rica. The 1 mile extension of taupe sand beach is bathed by clear waters with a soft current. Many water sports can be enjoyed including fishing, swimming, and windsurfing, among others, from a beach surrounded by the exuberant vegetation after which the beach was named. Playa Panamá has the Blue Flag certification and categorized as one of the most sanitary beaches in the country.

Day 6. PLAYA PANAMA BEACH.  (B). Free time at leisure or take optional tours.

Day 7. PLAYA PANAMA BEACH - SAN JOSE (B) Breakfast at the hotel and free morning for enjoy the beach. During the afternoon, domestic flight to San Jose. Upon arrival, one of our representatives will be waiting for you and provide the transfer service to your hotel. Hotel check in and free time. Lunch and dinner on your own.

Day 8. TRANSFER OUT. (B) Transfer to the International Airport accordingly with your scheduled flight and Good bye.

SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE: The shuttle bus is a service where a maximum of 6-7 passengers travel in the same vehicle and to the same destination. By this way, we reduce the price of the transfer service and can arrange more economical packages. The service is very good, door to door, with recent model vehicles, full insured and A/C.

DEPARTURE DATES: All our options are available all year around and we just need your travel dates in order to check the hotel's availability and arrange it.

HOW BIG THE GROUPS ARE: Our vacations are operated in an independent basis and you will not travel as part of a group unless you are part of a group. However, during the transfers and Daily Tours you will travel with other tourist we might have for that particular activity or service.

HOW TO RESERVE THIS PACKAGE: Please send an email to info@greenwaytours.com with as much as information you can about your desired vacation, number of participants, arrival dates, name of the package you are interested on and any other special requirements. Once you receive our confirmation form, a 20% deposit is due. Full payment due 60 days prior to departure.

CAN I CUSTOMIZE A PACKAGE: Yes, you can use our packages as a base and make any change on it. We are very flexible. If these packages do not fit on your desired vacation, just send an email to us and we can prepare a new option for you.

AIRFARE IS NOT INCLUDED: All our options includes the Land Portion only. Airfare must be on your own and indicate your arrival and departure dates to us in order to arrange the hotel's bookings.
